Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government has extended the operating hours of malls, shopping centers, and trade centers in Jakarta till 10 p.m. Western Indonesia  Standard Time (WIB).

The provision has been stipulated in the Instruction of Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 20 of 2022, which will be valid until Monday (April 18, 2022). A copy of the instruction was received by ANTARA here on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the capacity of visitors in malls, shopping centers, and trade centers will remain at 75 percent, or the same as that set in the previous regulation, namely Inmendagri No. 18 of 2022.

The operational time for eating and drinking at Tegal food stalls (warteg) or street vendors has also been extended to 10 p.m. WIB, with the capacity capped at 75 percent.

Operations at restaurants or cafes, either at an independent location or inside malls, have also been extended to 10 p.m. WIB, with the capacity restricted to 75 percent.

The total capacity of visitors in restaurants or cafes with operations starting in the evening from 6 p.m. to midnight WIB will be a maximum of 50 percent.

The government asked that the provision for eating and drinking at warteg and restaurants or cafes be regulated in local government regulations.

Meanwhile, the capacity for cinema visitors in Jakarta has been reduced to 70 percent from 75 percent.

Likewise, the capacity of visitors at restaurants or cafes within the cinema area has been reduced to a maximum of 50 percent from 75 percent.

The easing of a number of provisions under community activity restrictions (PPKM) in Jakarta has been realized after taking the control of COVID-19 cases into account.

Based on data from the DKI Jakarta provincial government, the bed occupancy rate for COVID-19 patients at 140 referral hospitals as of Sunday (March 27, 2022) has fallen to 15 percent, with the number of occupied beds reaching 799 out of a total capacity of 5,345 beds.

Meanwhile, the occupancy of the intensive care unit (ICU) has also decreased, with occupancy reaching 200 people out of a capacity of 907 people or 22 percent.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases, or patients undergoing treatment or isolation as of Monday (April 4), has decreased by 256 to reach 5,246.

The number of recovered patients has reached 734, and the addition of positive cases of COVID-19 has been lower at 488.

The percentage of positive cases in the past week has continued to decline to 5.3 percent, even though the number of people tested using PCR swabs has exceeded the World Health Organization (WHO) limit of up to 90 thousand people.
