We urge all road users to ensure that they prepare an excellent vehicle, an adequate electronic toll card balance, sufficient fuel, and enough snacks for the trip.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Traffic Corps of the National Police started implementing the contraflow scheme from kilometer (KM) 47 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road to KM 70 of Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on Wednesday to ease increasing traffic.
Head of operations of the corps, Senior Commissioner Eddy Djunaedi, said here on Wednesday that the attempt was aimed at managing the 2022 Eid Al-Fitr homecoming traffic, which has started to increase.
Meanwhile, according to a statement released by state-owned road operator Jasa Marga, the implementation of the contraflow scheme began at 7:36 a.m. Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB).
The company is currently operating a total of 18 booths at Cikampek Utama Toll Gate.

Initially, traffic management schemes in the form of one-way, contraflow, and odd-even plate number restriction were scheduled to be implemented from April 28 to May 1, 2022, based on the projected peak period for the Eid Al-Fitr homecoming traffic.
However, after the number of vehicles began to increase and flock the toll road on April 27, it was decided that the contraflow scheme needed to be implemented earlier.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. WIB the same day, the corps conducted a simulation of the odd-even scheme from KM 47 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road to KM 144 of the Kalingkung Toll Gate.
Thus, the simulation also led to traffic crowding as a number of vehicles that did not meet the requirement had to return and cancel their trip.
