We are committed to implementing the COVID-19 health protocols strictly and ensuring the hygiene of public facilities at airports regularly.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-run airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) will operate Integrated Eid Al-Fitr Transportation Posts at 15 airports from April 25 to May 10, 2022, to ensure smooth air traffic during the holiday period.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the president director of the corporation, Faik Fahmi, said that the establishment of the posts is also aimed at ensuring a safe and healthy homecoming trip for all customers amid the holiday period.

The airport operator is expecting a very large increase in passengers in 2022 since the Eid Al-Fitr exodus was not allowed in 2020 and 2021.

Amid the 2022 Eid Al-Fitr holiday period, it is predicted that the airport operator will serve 2.4 million passengers and 19,579 aircraft.

The number will be a significant increase compared to the total customers served by the company during the 2021 Eid Al-Fitr, which only reached 428,156 passengers and 5,931 aircraft.

"We are committed to implementing the COVID-19 health protocols strictly and ensuring the hygiene of public facilities at airports regularly,” the president director emphasized.

He continued that AP I will also monitor queues at airports optimally to prevent crowding.

Hence, AP I is collaborating with various other airport stakeholders, including the Airport Authority Office, military, police, Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Airnav Indonesia, Port Health Office (KKP), Custom-Immigration-Quarantine (CIQ) officers, airlines, as well as ground handling agencies.

The total number of personnel deployed at the Integrated Eid Al-Fitr Transportation Posts has reached 4,152, consisting of 3,982 Angkasa Pura I personnel and 170 personnel from various airport stakeholders.

"We also urge prospective airport service users to always adhere to the applicable travel requirements, such as filling out the Electronic Health Alert Card (e-HAC), getting vaccinated, and complying with the health protocols,” Fahmi added.
