Jakarta (ANTARA) - Eid al-Fitr offers the right momentum to practice self-control and refrain from traveling to prevent transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan stated.

"During fasting, we practice self-control, and now, it is time for us to practice it by refraining from gathering and staying in touch physically," Baswedan noted at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout here on Wednesday night.

The governor lauded the residents of DKI Jakarta and its surroundings for refraining from traveling to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

Baswedan believes this approach as part of the efforts to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. He also did not hesitate to call them warriors.
